Ukraine and Congo step up agricultural cooperation under new memorandum

Ukraine's Economy, Environment and Agriculture Ministry and the Democratic Republic of the Congo's Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security have signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at strengthening food security and developing agriculture.

Details: The ministry said that the sides agree to work together in areas including:

- establishing a logistics agro hub for receiving, storing and distributing grain crops
- developing a food processing and distribution centre, including for social programmes and school canteens
- seed production and the supply of high-quality certified seed for key crops
- agricultural research and technology, including precision farming and irrigation methods
- fertiliser production and soil reclamation
- crop and livestock farming, aquaculture, veterinary products and related technologies
- agricultural and technical education for Congo's citizens
- processing of agricultural produce and other areas
