Quote: "We continue rallying international assistance to overcome the difficult situation in the energy sector following Russia's massive attacks.
In the coming days, Ukraine will receive a shipment of heating equipment from Italy to support the regions most affected by Russian terror."
Details: Budanov noted that the delivery is the implementation of agreements between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
Quote: "As part of the first stage, 78 industrial boilers with a total capacity of 116.5 MW are being delivered to Ukraine. This equipment is essential amid constant attacks on our infrastructure."
More details: Budanov added that the second stage of support is planned for the next six months. During this period, Ukraine will receive more than 300 additional boilers with a total capacity of 806 MW. The equipment will be sent to hromadas that are currently suffering the most from Russian attacks, he added. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]
Background:

- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that on 15 January, Ukraine's power demand hit 18 GW, far exceeding the grid's 11 GW capacity.
- Earlier, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that Kyiv, in coordination with the Ministry of Energy, is convening an energy-focused meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (also known as the Ramstein format) on the instructions of Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko.
- In 2025, Ukraine added over 1,000 MW of solar power, around 500 MW of gas-fired capacity and roughly 500 MW of energy storage capacity to its grid.
