The Russians caused significant damage to an energy facility belonging to DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company, in the city of Odesa on the night of 18-19 January.

Details: Energy officials said that 30,800 families are currently cut off from power because of the attack.

"The damage is significant, and repair works will take a long time to get the equipment back into working order. Energy workers are on site, clearing debris. Repairs will begin soon," the company said.

The primary task is to bring power back to critical infrastructure facilities in order to provide heat and water to homes, DTEK emphasised.
