Ukraine's air defence downs 342 Russian aerial assets, hits recorded at 11 locations

Russian forces carried out a large-scale combined strike on Ukraine on the night of 19-20 January, launching 372 drones and missiles, with Ukraine's air defence downing 342 Russian aerial assets.

Details: From 19:00 on 19 January, the Russians attacked Ukraine with one Zircon hypersonic cruise missile launched from the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, 18 Iskander-M ballistic missiles/S-300 surface-to-air guided missiles launched from Russia's Bryansk and Rostov oblasts, 15 Kh-101 cruise missiles launched from Russia's Vologda Oblast, and 339 attack UAVs – Shahed, Gerbera, Italmass and other types – launched from Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Shatalovo and Bryansk in Russia, Hvardiiske and Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea, and temporarily occupied Donetsk Oblast.
The Air Force reported that about 250 of the UAVs were Shaheds. The main target of the strike was Kyiv Oblast.
The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces.
Early reports indicated that as of 10:00, air defence had shot down or jammed 342 aerial assets: 14 Iskander-M ballistic missiles/S-300 guided missiles, 13 Kh-101 cruise missiles and 315 Russian UAVs in Ukraine's north, south, east and centre.
Strikes by five missiles and 24 attack UAVs were recorded at 11 locations, while downed UAV debris fell at 12 locations. Information on two Russian missiles is being confirmed.
