Emergency power cuts remain severe in some Ukrainian oblasts

Emergency restrictions on electricity consumption are being imposed across many Ukrainian oblasts. Some oblasts are subject to exceptionally severe measures.

Details: Ukrenergo said the most challenging situation remains in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast as well as in Poltava Oblast and the frontline regions: Kharkiv, Sumy and Donetsk oblasts, which have been hardest hit by unscheduled power cuts.

Quote: "Power engineers from Ukrenergo and other companies are doing everything possible to restore supply to all consumers or at least significantly reduce outage times in each oblast of Ukraine. But for this, the power system needs help."

• Emergency power outages have been implemented in several Ukrainian oblasts following the Russian attacks on 20 January.
• As of the morning of 20 January, consumers in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Rivne, Kharkiv and Sumy oblasts were without power following a fresh large-scale Russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine's energy system.
