Details: New outages were recorded in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv and Sumy oblasts. Power engineers are repairing the power grid in areas where the security situation allows.
In addition, emergency power cuts have been introduced in most regions of the country.
"Electricity consumption is in line with seasonal levels. Today, 23 January, as of 09:30, consumption was 1% lower than at the same time the previous day, Thursday," Ukrenergo said.
On 22 January, the daily peak in electricity use was lower than on 21 January due to stricter power restrictions.
"Please limit the use of high-power electrical appliances as much as possible. If possible, move energy-intensive activities to the night hours – after 23:00. Rational electricity consumption will help reduce the duration of forced outages," Ukrenergo added.
Background: Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has urged residents who are able to leave the city and those who remain to stock up on food, water and medicines, saying the situation is difficult but could worsen.
