Almost all of Chernihiv without electricity

Almost all of Chernihiv has been left without power as a result of a large-scale Russian attack on energy infrastructure facilities on the night of 23-24 January.

Details: The authorities reported that critical infrastructure facilities have begun switching to operation using alternative power sources.

Background: On the night of 23-24 January, the Russians carried out a combined attack on Ukraine using a mix of air-launched and ground-launched missiles as well as attack drones. The Air Force reported that 396 aerial attack assets were deployed for the attack.
