Russia attacks Kyiv and four oblasts at night – Zelenskyy
Russia launched a large-scale attack on Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, as well as on Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv oblasts on the night of 23-24 January.

Details: Zelenskyy said that the main target of the Russian attack in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast was the energy sector.
Quote from Zelenskyy: "Every such Russian strike on our energy infrastructure proves that there must be no delays in supplying air defences. No blind eye can be turned to these strikes; they must be met with a strong response.
We are counting on the reaction and assistance of all our partners. Every missile for Patriot, NASAMS and all other systems helps protect critical infrastructure and enables people to endure the winter cold."
Background: On the night of 23-24 January, the Russians carried out a combined attack on Ukraine using missiles of various types launched from air and ground platforms, as well as attack UAVs. The Air Force reports that 396 aerial attack assets were deployed.
