Woman killed in Russian drone strike on confectionery factory in Kyiv

A Russian strike has hit a Roshen confectionery factory in Kyiv, killing a woman and injuring two other people.

Quote from the SES: "The upper floor of a confectionery factory in the Holosiivskyi district has been destroyed as a result of the attack. One person has been killed and two others injured."
Details: Viktoriia Siumar said the direct hit, by a Shahed-type drone, killed a woman at the Roshen factory. [Roshen is a major international confectionery corporation based in Ukraine founded by former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko - ed.]
Quote from Siumar: "She was working in the production workshop… The workshop has also been seriously damaged."
More details: Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office also reported the strike but did not specify which Roshen facility had been hit.

Background:
- Russia's latest large-scale strike on energy infrastructure has left some consumers without power in the city of Kyiv and Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Kyiv oblasts.
- Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that damage to critical infrastructure has left nearly 6,000 apartment buildings without heating again.
