Details: Bakhmatov said 11 people have agreed to the move so far. Under a decision by Desnianskyi District State Administration, people with limited mobility who live alone and require care will be relocated to facilities with heating and backup power.
The first residents have been accommodated at the Kyiv Geriatric Care Home and the Kyiv Veterans of Labour Care Home, where emergency social services and assisted living are being provided.
Social services in Kyiv's Desnianskyi district have begun visiting apartments to identify people with limited mobility who live alone and are at risk due to the city's electricity and heating situation, the administration reported. Volunteers willing to assist social services are being sought.
Earlier, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that residents registered with district social centres (mainly elderly people who live alone) would be provided with hot meals once a day.
