Russian drones attack Odesa: civilians injured, infrastructure damaged

Russian forces conducted a drone attack on the city of Odesa and Odesa Oblast on the night of 26-27 January, leaving civilians injured and damaging infrastructure and residential buildings.

Details: Odesa Oblast Military Administration reported that the city and the oblast were attacked by drones overnight. The Air Force reported that Russian UAVs were approaching from the Black Sea.

The settlements of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Ovidiopol and Maiaky were initially under threat, followed by Odesa itself after 02:00.

Quote from Lysak: "An infrastructure facility, residential buildings and a building site were damaged in the enemy attack on Odesa.

Early reports indicated that one woman had been injured and taken to hospital with shrapnel wounds. Another woman was freed from under the rubble and her life is not in danger."

Updated at 04:47. Lysak reported that the number of people injured had risen to three. He also said that significant damage to civilian infrastructure had been recorded.

Quote from Lysak: "Several high-rise residential buildings and houses were damaged. The strikes caused large-scale fires. A church building in the city centre and a kindergarten were damaged."

Details: Lysak said emergency services had rescued people trapped in damaged buildings, including a child. Many residents were evacuated.

The most critical situation is at one scene in the Khadzhybeiskyi district, where part of a residential building has been destroyed.

There may still be people trapped under the rubble. Search and rescue operations are continuing without interruption.
