Transit to Hungary and Slovakia: Russia strikes Druzhba oil pipeline for first time

Russian forces have struck an infrastructure facility in the town of Brody in Lviv Oblast. The site is linked to the Druzhba oil pipeline.

Details: According to earlier reports, oil products caught fire in Brody, Lviv Oblast, on 27 January following the Russian attack, causing heavy smoke.
Brody City Council reported the fire. After the strike, schools in the town cancelled classes and residents were urged to stay at home and, if possible, not to go outside. Kindergartens are operating with windows and doors tightly closed. Similar recommendations to keep their windows and doors shut were issued to the town residents.
Enkorr reported that the site is connected to the Druzhba oil pipeline. The pipeline remains operational and is used to transport Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia.
"It is worth noting that no attacks on Druzhba pipeline infrastructure on the territory of Ukraine had previously been recorded," the outlet wrote.
