Oleksandr Vilkul, Head of Kryvyi Rih Defence Council, specified that the city had been hit by a ballistic missile on the night of 27-28 January.

A civilian infrastructure facility was damaged. The missile strike triggered an emergency shutdown of several large boiler houses, while hydraulic shock caused ruptures in the main heating networks.

Vilkul said that around 700 buildings are currently without heating. Utility services are working to restore the heat supply.

Background: On the night of 27-28 January, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile as well as 146 Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas loitering munitions and drones of other types. Around 90 of them were Shahed attack drones.
