Musician Mykola Dziak dies after sustaining severe injuries on combat mission

Mykola Dziak, a serviceman who was the frontman of two bands, Taiemnytsia Tretoi Planety and Budynok Hryboiedova, has died in hospital after sustaining severe injuries during a combat mission.

Details: Dziak joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the start of Russia's full-scale invasion. He would have turned 41 in February.
Dnipro State Medical University said in a statement: "Mykola Dziak, Lieutenant in the Medical Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, defended Ukraine on the front lines against Russian aggression. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained severe injuries. Doctors in Dnipro, his colleagues, family and friends battled for three weeks to save his life, but sadly, it was not possible to save him."
Dziak was born on 7 February 1985. From 2002 to 2008, he studied preventive medicine at the Dnipro Medical Academy. He also completed training at the university's military department and was commissioned as a junior lieutenant in the medical service reserve.
After completing postgraduate studies, he began teaching at the institution and worked at the Department of Hygiene and Ecology. He combined his academic career with music: from 2011, he was the lead singer of the band Budynok Hryboiedova (Rus. "Dom Griboyedova"), and from 2008 to 2015, he was a member of the indie pop-rock band Taiemnytsia Tretoi Planety (Rus. "Taina Tretei Planety").
