Ukrainian air defence downs 84 Russian drones, 7 locations hit, attack rages on

Ukrainian air defence forces downed 84 out of 105 drones launched by Russia on the night of 28-29 January.

Details: From 18:00 on 28 January, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 105 Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas loitering munitions as well as drones of other types launched from the Russian cities of Briansk, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske, Crimea.

About 70 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.

Early reports indicated that as of 08:30, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 84 Shaheds and drones of other types in the country's north, south, centre and east.

Hits by 18 UAVs had been recorded at seven locations.
