President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a decree to decorate 253 servicemen with state honours for their personal courage in defending Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Details: Under the decree, 253 Ukrainian defenders received state honours, 131 of them posthumously.

Among the recipients are members of various ranks and units, including:

  • Senior Lieutenant Anton Kraievskyi, given the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky 2nd Class
  • 16 officers received the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky 3rd, two posthumously
  • two servicemen received the Order For Courage 2nd Class, one posthumously
  • 187 defenders received the Order For Courage 3rd Class, including 128 posthumously
  • Major Serhii Sharpinskyi received the Order of Danylo Halytskyi.

In addition, for selfless service, the president decorated 32 servicemen with the Medal For Military Service to Ukraine, five with the Defender of the Motherland Medal and nine medics and rescue workers with the Medal for Saving Lives.
