Background:
- On 31 January, a major breakdown in Ukraine's power system caused electricity to be cut off across large parts of the country.
- Denys Shmyhal, Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, reported on Saturday evening that power had been restored in all Ukrainian oblasts following the grid breakdown.
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the causes of the large-scale energy failure are still being investigated, but so far there is no evidence of external interference or a cyberattack; it most likely occurred due to ice on the power lines.
