Early reports indicate that seven people were killed and eight injured in Russian strikes on the city of Druzhkivka in Ukraine's Donetsk Oblast on Wednesday 4 February.

Details: Filashkin said Russian forces bombarded the city with cluster munitions, directly striking a market that is always crowded in the morning.

He noted that the final number of casualties from the attack has not yet been confirmed and said he will provide updates on any significant developments.

According to Filashkin, all relevant services are working at the scene, providing assistance to those who were injured and dealing with the aftermath of the attack.

Filashkin added that the Russians also dropped two aerial bombs on Druzhkivka, damaging an industrial area, three apartment blocks and three houses.

He urged local residents to evacuate to safer regions.

Update: Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office later said that Russian forces had struck a market using a Smerch multiple-launch rocket system. Two women and five men were killed. Fifteen civilians were injured, suffering blast trauma, fractures and other injuries. Market stalls and cars were also damaged.

Police reported that the attack happened at about 12:00, when the market was crowded. The fatalities were two women aged 57 and 81 and five men aged between 43 and 60.

Nine men and six women, aged 50 to 72, were injured. They were diagnosed with blast injuries and fractures. The number of casualties may rise.
