Possible ceasefire and monitoring of halt in hostilities discussed at Abu Dhabi talks

Delegations from the United States, Ukraine and Russia discussed the remaining unresolved issues on 4-5 February, including methods for implementing a ceasefire and monitoring the cessation of hostilities.

Details: Umierov said the discussions were constructive and had focused on ways of creating conditions to achieve a lasting peace.
The delegations reached an agreement under which the Russian Federation and Ukraine carried out the reciprocal release of 157 prisoners of war each – the first exchange in the last five months.
The communiqué also says that over the two days, the delegations held wide-ranging discussions of the remaining unresolved issues, including methods for implementing a ceasefire and monitoring the cessation of hostilities.
The delegations agreed to report back to their respective capitals and continue trilateral negotiations over the coming weeks. They expressed their appreciation to the United Arab Emirates for hosting the talks.
Umierov added that Ukraine is grateful to US President Donald Trump for his leadership in advancing efforts aimed at ending the war.

- The trilateral talks in the United Arab Emirates took place in the wake of a large-scale Russian strike on Ukraine. Following the latest attack, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Tuesday that the work of the Ukrainian negotiating team would be "adjusted".
