Details: Trump said that the United States is the most powerful country in the world and that he fully rebuilt the US military during his first term, "including new and many refurbished nuclear weapons".

"I also added Space Force and now, continue to rebuild our Military at levels never seen before. We are even adding Battleships, which are 100 times more powerful than the ones that roamed the Seas during World War II - The Iowa, Missouri, Alabama, and others," the US president wrote.

He then added that he had prevented nuclear wars around the world, including "between Pakistan and India, Iran and Israel, as well as Russia and Ukraine".

Notably, the term "nuclear war" is usually associated with an exchange of nuclear strikes. If a state does not possess nuclear weapons, it cannot respond symmetrically. In such a case, this would not be an "exchange" but a one-sided use of weapons of mass destruction. As is known, Ukraine is not a nuclear state.

Background:

  • Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that the world was on the brink of World War III and nuclear war, but that these wars did not happen thanks to his efforts.
  • Last November, Trump said that the United States has the largest nuclear arsenal in the world – enough to blow up the world 150 times.
  • In October, Trump instructed the Pentagon to immediately resume nuclear weapons testing.
