Drones hit two Russian oblasts: chemical plant catches fire

Drones attacked Russia's Tver and Saratov oblasts on the night of 6-7 February. A chemical plant in the town of Redkino was among the targets.

Details: Residents of Redkino reported many explosions and a fire. The Redkino Experimental Chemical Plant was likely hit.

Locals said that several fires had broken out on the plant's premises after the drone strikes. A strong chemical smell was reported in the area surrounding the facility.

The Redkino Experimental Chemical Plant is one of Russia's major chemical industry facilities. It specialises in the production of complex chemical compounds, including fuel additives, industrial chemicals and specialised reagents. Its products are used in the aircraft and defence industries as well as in military and dual-use programmes.
