…Power output was reduced at the nuclear power plant reactors by personnel. Schedules of four to four and a half queues are in effect across Ukraine now, and special emergency power cut schedules have been introduced in the eastern and northern oblasts." [Ukrenergo, Ukraine's state-owned electricity transmission operator, defines a "queue" as a group of consumers and businesses using a specific amount of megawatts. The Dispatch Centre sets the number of queues needed across oblasts to address energy deficits. Critical infrastructure and eligible industrial companies that import at least 60% of their energy cannot be disconnected, according to a Ukrainian Cabinet resolution – ed.]
Details: Shmyhal added that dispatchers from Ukrenergo requested emergency assistance from Poland.
Background: Russian forces conducted a large-scale strike on Ukraine on the night of 6-7 February. Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv oblasts were attacked.
