Russians attack Ukrainian railway infrastructure in Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts

Russia continues to carry out targeted strikes on civilian railway infrastructure, with the current focus on Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts.

Details: According to Kuleba, a Russian drone struck a locomotive at Konotop station that was due to be attached to a passenger train. Near Tereshchenska station in Sumy Oblast, railway tracks were damaged, and traffic was temporarily restricted while repairs were carried out.
In addition, a drone hit a service vehicle carrying railway workers to repair a section of track. One employee was injured and taken to hospital with shrapnel injuries, while the rest of the team was safely evacuated.
In Chernihiv Oblast, a diesel train was hit at Snovsk station, but the resulting fire was quickly extinguished.
Kuleba said that restoration work is ongoing at all sites and train services have been maintained.
