Quote: "Together with the EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarína Mathernová, we visited Troieshchyna – one of Kyiv's districts most affected by Russian strikes on thermal generation. On site, we saw the main thing: heating in Troieshchyna has been restored."

Details: Shkrum emphasised that this was the result of round-the-clock work by emergency teams: 176 crews with 840 workers, including 83 crews (345 people) from other oblasts, Kyiv businesses and Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways).

Quote: "However, it is important to understand that even after restoring heating, buildings need time to warm up – sometimes this takes several days. Work continues on defrosting individual risers and fixing local faults in residential buildings and public institutions."

Background: The situation in Kyiv remains difficult. As of the morning of 8 February, 1,126 residential buildings in the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts remained without heating following the shutdown of the Combined Heat And Power Plant No. 5 due to Russian attacks.
