Zelenskyy and Moldovan PM discuss bilateral projects

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has met with Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, who is on a visit to Kyiv, to discuss bilateral projects.

Details: Zelenskyy said his meeting with Munteanu covered joint projects in energy, rail and infrastructure.

He also thanked Munteanu for supporting Ukraine and its people.

Quote: "We share a common vision for our future in the European Union, and Ukraine and Moldova should pursue their path to the EU together, so that everyone in our region benefits from the strengthening of our peoples and of Europe as a whole."

Background:

  • A shipment of humanitarian aid from Moldova, including electric generators and fire engines, is set to arrive in Kyiv on 10 February, Munteanu has said during his ongoing visit to Ukraine.
  • In autumn 2025, Moldovan President Maia Sandu officially appointed businessman Alexandru Munteanu as prime minister. Prior to that, he had lived in Ukraine for more than 20 years.
