NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has said that he is convinced the US leadership knows in detail about Russian attacks on Ukraine, including strikes on civilian facilities.

Details: Asked by journalists whether the US government is "fully aware" of the pressure Ukraine is under from Russian attacks and if he had personally been able to speak with the US President Donald Trump and share his assessment of the situation in Ukraine, Rutte replied to both questions in the affirmative.

Details: Rutte declined to give further details about his dialogue with Trump, saying he will never disclose the content of a conversation.

Quote: "But I mean the American president, the American administration is totally aware of the dreadful situation in Ukraine. In my regular contact with the American president, of course, we update each other… Yes, [there is] absolute clarity in the US on what's happening in Ukraine. There's no doubt."
