Kremlin expects next talks with Ukraine to take place "soon"

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has said Russia expects the next round of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia to take place soon.

Details: Peskov was asked to comment on remarks by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Kyiv has agreed to hold the next round of talks in the United States next week. The Kremlin spokesperson replied, "There is a certain understanding; we will keep you informed. As we have said before, we expect the next round to take place soon."

Peskov did not provide further details or comment on the possible location of the third round of negotiations.

• On 11 February, Zelenskyy said the next round of talks with Russia is scheduled for 17 or 18 February in the United States, although Russia has not yet agreed.
• According to a communiqué on the outcome of the trilateral talks held in Abu Dhabi on 4-5 February, the US, Ukrainian and Russian delegations discussed methods for implementing a ceasefire and monitoring the cessation of hostilities.
• Following the Abu Dhabi talks, the US and Russia have agreed to resume high-level military dialogue.
