Ukraine will in future be ready to deploy its troops to other geographical regions, says Ukraine’s foreign minister
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has said that a number of partner countries have confirmed their readiness to deploy their troops to Ukraine after a ceasefire, while Ukraine in the future will be prepared to deploy its own forces to other regions of the world.
Source: Sybiha at the discussion panel "In Focus – Security Guarantees for Ukraine" at the Munich Security Forum, as reported by Interfax-Ukraine
Quote: "Boots on the ground is an essential part of future security guarantees, also because of business opportunities. If we have boots on the ground, it is also a deterrence and a guarantee for future investors, and it's also an element of encouraging them to invest in Ukraine.
So we also have confirmation from some European capitals, and not only European capitals, regarding their readiness to deploy troops on the ground."
Details: Sybiha said that this would take place after a ceasefire.
Quote: "I do not know if we are talking about the mandate of peacekeepers or the peace monitoring group, as this is still in the process of discussion. But we need this presence in Ukraine. In the future, Ukraine is also ready to deploy its military forces to other geographical regions."
