Ukrainian defence forces strike key Russian targets, hitting launcher and troop concentration areas

On the night of 17-18 February, Ukrainian forces struck the launcher of a Russian S-300VM air defence missile system, UAV control points, and areas where troops and equipment were concentrated.

Quote: "As part of ongoing efforts to reduce the offensive potential of the Russians, the defence forces continue to strike key targets in enemy territory and in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Specifically, on the night of 17-18 February 2026, the following targets were hit:

  • Trudove area (temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Oblast) – a concentration area of an enemy UAV unit;
  • Tokmak area (temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Oblast) – a UAV workshop;
  • Staromlynivka area (temporarily occupied Donetsk Oblast) – a communications hub;
  • Donetsk (temporarily occupied Donetsk Oblast) – a concentration of military equipment of the occupying forces."

Details: In addition, on 17 February, a launcher belonging to an S-300VM surface-to-air missile system was struck in the area of Mariupol.

Strikes were also carried out on Russian UAV control points in the area of Salne (Kursk Oblast, Russia) and in Rodynske (Donetsk Oblast, temporarily occupied territory).

Russian losses and the final extent of the damage are being confirmed.
