A Ukrainian parliamentary working group preparing post-war election legislation has stated that polling stations cannot be set up in occupied areas or in Russia and Belarus.

Quote: "Following the work of the subgroup, there are issues where we have unequivocally reached consensus and which raise no objections whatsoever. This includes, for example, the impossibility of organising any polling stations in temporarily occupied territories, on the territory of the Russian Federation and in the Republic of Belarus."
Background:
- On 17 February, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia had agreed to a ceasefire lasting only one day to allow elections to take place, rather than the 60 days that are needed.
- On 15 February, Zelenskyy told Politico that 90% of Ukrainians oppose elections being held during the war.
