Details: The commander-in-chief reported that he is currently working on axes of combat missions in the southern operational zone, where he held substantive meetings with commanders.

"We discussed the state of fulfillment of combat missions, problematic issues and proposals for their solution. We determined priority steps to strengthen defence and ensure our units. Logistics, evacuation of wounded, uninterrupted delivery of ammunition, technical support of units – these are necessary conditions of our resilience," he noted.

Syrskyi reported that the situation on this axis is difficult; the Russians continue to apply pressure, actively use small assault groups for infiltration and employ artillery, unmanned means and, in some places, armoured vehicles.

"But our soldiers are not only holding defence but are also acting successfully in the offensive operation… Our plan is unchanged: effective fulfilment of assigned tasks with maximum preservation of lives and health of our defenders, strengthening defence capabilities and building up capabilities on each section of the front," Syrskyi said.

Background:

  • Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in an interview with AFP that Ukrainian defence forces had liberated 300 sq km in the south.
  • The president also noted that the trilateral talks in Geneva on ending the war in Ukraine had not yielded any positive results on territorial issues.
