All launched Flamingo missiles reached Votkinsk plant in Russia – Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that all FP-5 Flamingo missiles launched by Ukraine during the strike on the Votkinsk plant in Russia reached their target, which, he noted, demonstrates the "high quality and accuracy" of these missiles.

Quote: "I will not say how many Flamingo missiles were used this time. I only want to say that some were intercepted by Russian air defence, some were not, and there were direct hits. But the most important thing is that all the missiles that were launched reached the target. I believe this is the key success – it shows high quality and accuracy."
Details: Zelenskyy also said that Russia is "hunting" for the Flamingo production facilities and that Russian attacks had forced Ukraine to wait a long time before restoring the production line.
According to Zelenskyy, missile production is planned to be increased, depending on funding and the availability of certain components.
Background:
- The Votkinsk plant was struck by FP-5 Flamingo missiles on the evening of 20 February. The strike and the type of weapon were later confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The military said that a fire was recorded at the impact site, and the aftermath of the strike was being assessed.
- The OSINT project CyberBoroshno published satellite images which analysts say show damage to one of the plant's workshops.
- A hole measuring approximately 30 by 24 metres was recorded in Building No. 19, which houses a galvanising and stamping workshop. According to the analysts, the height of the damage is uneven – about 24 metres on one side and 18 metres on the other.
