Ukrainian Railways announces changes to train services due to Russian attacks

Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) has temporarily restricted some train services to and from Dnipro-Holovnyi station following Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities on the night of 27-28 February. Replacement buses are being used in most cases between the cities of Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia.

Quote: "There have been power outages after the overnight attacks on the city of Zaporizhzhia, but suburban trains have set off on their routes. Delays of up to one hour are possible; there are no cancellations."

Services to/from Dnipro-Holovnyi station are being temporarily restricted for four routes.

In Kharkiv Oblast, a replacement bus service is in operation between Lozova and Kramatorsk.

Ukrzaliznytsia said train No. 101/102 (Barvinkove-Kherson) will wait for connecting passengers, and regional express trains on the Izium route are running according to schedule.

In Sumy Oblast, regional trains are temporarily running to/from Konotop only. In Chernihiv Oblast, adjusted timetables are in place for suburban services on the Nizhyn route.

In Kherson Oblast, services are being organised with due regard to the security situation.

  • On the night of 27-28 February, Russia attacked a railway station in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and struck an electric locomotive.
  • At dawn on 28 February, Russian forces attacked Dnipro. Explosions were heard in the city and a fire broke out.
  • On the night of 27-28 February, the Russians attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 105 UAVs. The Air Force reported that 96 drones were shot down or jammed.
