Critical Infrastructure: UP and largest private energy company DTEK join forces to support media outlets in frontline regions

Ukrainska Pravda and DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company, have launched a joint social initiative, Critical Infrastructure, to support independent regional media outlets operating in frontline regions. The merchandise was designed by Elvira Gasanova (Damirli).

All proceeds from the special merchandise collection will go to support editorial teams in:

  • Sumy – Kordon.Media
  • Kharkiv – Gwara
  • Dnipro – Dnipro.Media
  • Mykolaiv – MykVisti
  • Kherson – MOST

Amid Russia's full-scale invasion, frontline regions face the greatest information pressure and Russian propaganda. Independent local outlets work under extremely difficult conditions – countering disinformation, documenting Russian war crimes and ensuring hromadas have access to verified information. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]

"Truth is critical infrastructure for the existence of a state. Just as cities cannot function without critical infrastructure, a country cannot exist without truth. Today, regional media are working under attacks, with limited resources and often at personal risk, so that people can access verified information.

That is why Ukrainska Pravda, together with DTEK, has joined forces to support those who defend the truth where it is most vulnerable," said Ukrainska Pravda editor-in-chief Sevgil Musaieva.

The Critical Infrastructure project aims to bring together businesses and citizens willing to support independent journalism where it is most at risk.

As part of the initiative, a charity collection of T-shirts and hoodies has been created. You can buy the merch here.
