Zelenskyy: Russia wants Odesa Oblast but lacks forces for offensive

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said Ukraine is aware of Russia's plans for offensives in the east, as well as towards Zaporizhzhia Oblast, the city of Dnipro and Odesa Oblast, but Russian forces lack the capacity to carry out an offensive planned for March.

Details: Zelenskyy said Ukraine has obtained documents outlining Russia's plans for 2025-2027.
Quote: "We understand that their directions remain unchanged – the occupation of the east of our state, namely Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. They definitely want to continue advancing towards Zaporizhzhia Oblast, and also towards Dnipro.
They are struggling, yet they are eyeing the Odesa region. We see these directions. But these maps have nothing to do with reality right now, because they cannot accomplish the tasks."
Details: Zelenskyy added that the planned spring offensive depended on results that the Russian armed forces had intended to achieve by the end of 2025, but those objectives have not been met.
Quote: "Their maps do not correspond to reality – where our forces are and where their forces are. They cannot launch the March offensive they wanted."
Background: On 1 March, 145 combat clashes occurred on the battlefield, with the largest number of Russian attacks, 34, recorded on the Huliaipole front.
