Russian forces destroyed the main post office building of Ukraine's national postal service Ukrposhta in the city of Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast, on 7 March.

Quote: "We realised this could happen so we had moved in advance to another building nearby. It was also damaged but it will be repaired during the day and will resume services for Kramatorsk residents."

Background:

  • Ukrposhta suspended operations in the town of Orikhiv and the village of Preobrazhenka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast due to the security situation in the settlements.
  • Since the start of the full-scale war, Ukrposhta has lost 418 vehicles, including 281 during the temporary occupation of some Ukrainian territories by Russian forces in 2022.
