Details: Koretskyi emphasised that repairing such infrastructure is a complex technical process that requires time, specialised equipment and work under constant threat of further Russian strikes.

He noted that Naftogaz and the Foreign Ministry continue to keep international partners informed about the impact of Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure and the progress of repair work.

It is unclear whether Hungarian experts, who Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said have been in Kyiv for several days, or Hungarian diplomats participated in the briefing.

Background:

  • A Hungarian delegation arrived in Ukraine on 11 March to assess the condition of the Druzhba oil pipeline. Ukraine's Foreign Ministry said the delegation had had no official status and no official meetings had been scheduled.
  • A document emerged later confirming that the Ukrainian side had not approved the visit in the format requested by Budapest.
