Ukraine imposes sanctions on Russian defence sector, Iran, and Oreshnik missile manufacturers

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed decrees enacting the National Security and Defence Council's decision to impose sanctions on Russian and Iranian companies involved in servicing the Russian defence sector.

Details: The sanctions package targets 130 individuals and 48 legal entities.

Among them are companies that supplied components for the production of the Kometa series of satellite navigation equipment used in Russian drones and missiles.

The sanctions also target manufacturers involved in the production of the Orieshnik missile system.

The list specifically includes Iranian companies and individuals linked to the production of Iranian drones and missiles, as well as those who assisted Russia in launching and scaling up the production of Shahed drones on its territory.

Sanctions were also applied to Iranian instructors who, according to the Office of the President of Ukraine, trained Russian operators of Shahed drones responsible for attacks on Ukrainian cities and energy infrastructure.
