In a statement, Ukrposhta said it had been forced to close the Orikhiv branch in February because of the security situation. Nataliia ran the branch in the town.

She was offered a chance to transfer to another region, but she decided to stay.

On 8 March, a Russian drone attacked Nataliia in her own garden. Rescue workers pulled Nataliia out from under the rubble of her destroyed home.

Doctors fought to save Nataliia's life for four days, but on 12 March, her heart stopped beating.

Her colleagues recalled: "Nataliia was a true symbol of Orikhiv's resilience. For almost a year, she worked with no electricity, and later in basement premises, under constant threat of attacks, but despite all this, she refused to leave her customers. Despite the danger, she made her way to work every day so that people could receive their pensions and letters on time.

For her selfless contribution, Nataliia Rohozna received an award 'For assistance to defence' from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine in 2024."

Background: On 8 March, Russian forces carried out 805 strikes on the territory of 36 settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
