Details: North Side Group reported on 19 March that Chernyshev had been killed in action but did not disclose further details.

In an earlier interview with popular influencer Ihor Lachenkov, Chernyshev said he was originally from Kharkiv. He joined the army in 2016 after graduating from a technical college. At the time, he was only 18.

"I went to the military enlistment office literally a week after receiving my diploma. They started listing brigade numbers. I was sitting there saying I didn't understand any of it – I just wanted to go where the fighting was. They said: okay, you'll go to the 53rd [Separate Mechanised Brigade – ed.]," the serviceman recalled.

He was then deployed to the ATO zone. In 2018, he left military service and began working in security. A year later, Mazhor returned to the army, and in 2020 he joined the 25th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. When the full-scale invasion began, he took part in the defence of Kharkiv. [The ATO or Anti-Terrorist Operation is a term used from 2014 to 2018 by the media, the government of Ukraine and the OSCE to identify combat actions in parts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts against Russian military forces and pro-Russian separatists – ed.].

North Side Group is a community founded by Ukrainian servicemen in Kharkiv. According to Chernyshev, it represents "a concept of Ukrainian military style".

On social media, North Side Group covers combat operations and the evacuation of wounded soldiers and also produces its own merchandise.
