Trump accuses Zelenskyy of only offering help in Middle East for PR purposes

US President Donald Trump has described the assistance Ukraine is providing to countries in the Middle East as political PR by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Details: Ruhle asked Trump about Ukraine's support for US allies in the Middle East, particularly in countering Iranian drones. According to Ruhle, Trump responded that Ukraine has "done nothing", and claimed that all statements by the Ukrainian president about such assistance were made for "political and PR purposes".
Trump also once again criticised Zelenskyy, stating that he is "more difficult to deal with" than Vladimir Putin. He further added that the Russian leader "is not afraid of Europe".
In addition, Trump reiterated his dissatisfaction that NATO allies are not assisting the US in operations against Iran. Meanwhile, he noted that Washington does not require their help.
Background:
- On 13 March, Trump insisted that the US does not need Ukraine's help to shoot down Iranian drones in the Middle East.
- In response, Zelenskyy said that "rhetoric is rhetoric", emphasising that "the main thing is that we know what we are doing".
- Last week, US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll reported that the American military had deployed 10,000 Merops interceptor drones to the Middle East – drones that had previously demonstrated effective combat use in Ukraine.
