Ukrainian drone manufacturer starts producing UAVs with Czech company – photo

Ukrainska Bavovna, a Ukrainian drone manufacturer, has signed a memorandum with Czech company Pavetra Aerospace for the joint development and production of the Shuhai strike drone and an interceptor UAV.

Details: The drones will be produced at a joint venture in Czechia.

More details: The Shuhai strike unmanned platform was developed by Czech and Ukrainian companies with the participation of service members from the 9th Separate Brigade of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces. The drone was designed for strikes at a range of more than 50 kilometres. In November 2025, brigade personnel carried out flight tests of the drone and prepared it for combat use.

For reference: Ukrainska Bavovna is a defence systems integration company operating in Ukraine. It focuses on defence and military integration services, covering the full cycle from prototype development to mass production and commercialisation.

Background:

  • Ukrainska Pravda reported earlier that Ukrainian Defence Industry (UkrOboronProm), Ukraine's state-owned arms manufacturer, and the Czech company Air Team signed an agreement on the joint development and production of interceptor drones for the security of Ukrainian airspace.
  • The Czech company LPP s.r.o. also presented the JWI-4000 unmanned aerial vehicle, designed to intercept and destroy drones such as the Shahed 136 drone and its modifications.
