Details: The Russians attacked simultaneously on seven fronts, deploying more than 500 infantry troops, 28 armoured vehicles and more than 100 motorcycles, buggies and quad bikes.
In four hours, the 3rd Army Corps units "turned the Russians' rapid breakthrough into a massive failure".
The Russian losses in equipment included 84 motor vehicles, 11 infantry fighting vehicles and armoured personnel carriers and three tanks. The Ukrainian forces also hit a Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower system and five artillery pieces and destroyed more than 160 Russian UAVs.
Brigade General Andrii Biletskyi, commander of the 3rd Army Corps, said the troops had prepared for the assault.
Quote from Biletskyi: "We had been observing signs of preparations for an offensive for a month and a half. The Russians intensified guided aerial bomb strikes on our crossings over the Oskil River, trying to cut off logistics. They began setting up their own pontoon crossings and clearing routes of mines, which directly pointed to preparations for a large-scale mechanised offensive.
We prepared for it: defensive actions were rehearsed on different fronts and each brigade had its own plan for repelling the attack. The corps coordinated these actions and, as a result, the strikes were thwarted on all fronts."
Background: The 3rd Army Corps and the 2nd Khartiia Corps of the National Guard are developing new multi-tier military training standards and are preparing to present them. These will cover basic military training, non-commissioned officers and junior officers.
