UNESCO experts to visit Lviv to assess damage after Russian strike

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry has reached an agreement with UNESCO for experts to visit the city of Lviv to document the aftermath of the latest Russian strike and assess the damage.

Quote from Sybiha: "Experts will arrive in Ukraine in the near future to assess the damage caused by Russian terrorists

Russia did not just strike buildings in the centre of Lviv. This is an attack on a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a strike on UNESCO as an organisation. It is a strike on everyone in the world who cares about cultural heritage. We demand a strong response."

Details: The Foreign Ministry has also urged UNESCO to initiate sanctions against Russia in the field of culture.

Background:

The Bernardine Monastery – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – was damaged in a large-scale Russian drone attack on the centre of Lviv. Following this, Sybiha called on UNESCO to respond.
Russia conducted one of its heaviest attacks on Ukraine on 24 March, launching over 400 attack drones.
Poland scrambled its own and allied aircraft twice in one day due to the latest Russian attacks on Ukraine's west.
