Two civilian women have been killed when Russian forces dropped explosives on their vehicle.

Quote: "Investigators have found that Russian forces dropped an explosive device from a UAV onto a vehicle in Kherson at approximately 11:20 on 1 April 2026. Two women on board have been killed as a result of the attack. The driver sustained injuries and has been taken to hospital."

Details: The prosecutor's office has opened a case on the grounds of a war crime resulting in the death of people (Article 438.2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Update: Later, Prokudin reported that one of the women previously reported as dead is alive. "A 63-year-old woman who had shown no signs of life was taken to hospital in a critical condition. She has been diagnosed with blast injuries and multiple wounds to the head, face, torso and limbs," he said.

Background: On the afternoon of 26 March, a woman was killed in Kherson in a Russian attack. She worked at a combined heat and power (CHP) plant.
