Some consumers in Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy and Odesa oblasts have been left without electricity after a large-scale Russian drone attack on energy infrastructure on 1 April and the night of 1-2 April damaged the equipment.

Details: Ukraine's Energy Ministry said power engineers are working at full capacity to restore electricity supplies to all consumers as quickly as possible.

Electricity consumption is showing a downward trend.

As of 09:30 on 2 April, consumption was 3.5% lower than at the same time the previous day. The change is attributed to favourable weather conditions across most Ukrainian oblasts, which improved the efficiency of household solar power stations and led to a corresponding reduction in electricity drawn from the national grid.

On 1 April, the daily peak in consumption was recorded in the morning. It was at the same level as the peak on the previous day, 31 March.

Background: Russia attacked port infrastructure in Odesa Oblast on the night of 1-2 April, damaging storage areas, warehouses, office and service premises at one of the ports.
