Details: The incidents were recorded in Snovsk and Novhorod-Siverskyi in Chernihiv Oblast on the morning of 2 April.
The fake notes carry a QR code linking to a social media channel where the Russians offer "news and real money".
"These are not banknotes. They are a danger. I ask everyone not to touch or scan these 'gifts'. Please be careful with suspicious objects," local authorities warn.

Kobzar added that if such items are found, people should immediately notify the police or the State Emergency Service.
Suspilne reported that in September 2025, leaflets designed to resemble Ukrainian 100-hryvnia banknotes and dropped by Russian drones had also been found in one of Chernihiv's neighbourhoods. Russian forces used them in an attempt to trick people into sharing coordinates and helping direct strikes on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
