Serbia allocates €2m to strengthen Ukraine's energy resilience
Serbia's government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have signed a new €2 million financing agreement to strengthen the resilience of Ukraine's energy sector.

Details: The funds will be used to procure and deliver high-voltage transformers, critical equipment needed to restore electricity transmission capacity and ensure stable power supplies for millions of Ukrainians.
These measures are being implemented as part of the UNDP Green Energy Recovery Programme.

Background:
- Helen McEntee, Ireland's Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, announced this week an additional €40 million in financial support for Ukraine in response to Russia's war, with an additional €40 million in humanitarian and long-term development assistance to be provided this year.
- Norway is increasing its support for UN operations assisting displaced persons in Ukraine and beyond as a result of Russia's war, allocating NOK 260 million (over US$26.8 million).
