Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill in the city of Obukhiv in Kyiv Oblast has temporarily halted production after a Russian attack.

Details: The forced shutdown jeopardises the stable supply of goods used every day in thousands of Ukrainian homes. These include sanitary and hygiene products and corrugated packaging.

More details: The mill had previously come under a large-scale Russian missile attack. On 14 March, it was reported that industrial premises, office buildings, production facilities and engineering infrastructure had been damaged.

At that time, it was decided to urgently allocate additional funding needed for all restoration work.

Background:

  • On 3 April, the Russian military struck a shopping centre in the city of Sumy, injuring people and damaging the building.
  • The Russians have struck critical and social infrastructure in Kherson Oblast over the course of the last 24 hours, damaging three apartment buildings, 12 houses, a veterinary clinic, a car service station and vehicles.
  • On the night of 2-3 April, Russian forces struck Kharkiv with ballistic missiles, injuring five people, including an infant. An office building was damaged in the Osnovianskyi district. A 70-year-old security guard was injured.
  • On 3 April, one person was killed and three were injured in a Russian strike on Shostka in Sumy Oblast.
