Russian troop losses have exceeded reinforcements for several months, Ukraine's commander-in-chief says
Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has said that Russian troop losses in Ukraine have exceeded reinforcements arriving to combat units for several months in a row.

Quote: "I held a telephone conversation with the Supreme Allied Commander Europe and Commander of US European Command, General Alexus Grynkewich.
I briefed him on the current situation in the combat areas, the activity of Russian invaders on key sections of the front, and our successes in defeating the enemy and liberating territories. For several months now, Russian losses have exceeded the replenishment level of their combat units."
Details: Syrskyi also spoke about what he described as particularly brutal Russian tactics against civilians, including airstrikes on populated areas and critical infrastructure facilities.
He noted that Ukraine needs continued international military assistance and stable deliveries of weapons, primarily air defence systems and ammunition for them. The parties discussed Ukraine's priority needs under the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) programme.
Background: In February, Syrskyi said that 2025 became the first year of the war when "the losses of the Russian army exceeded its recruitment levels".
